YouTube upload risk analysis: what the score means (and what it does not)
Learn what GuardMyVideos upload copyright risk analysis checks on your focal video, how the percentage differs from copycat scores, and how Pro unlocks keyword detail and safer rewrites.
Published

Upload risk analysis answers a different question from copycat detection. Copycat scans ask: did someone else publish something that looks like this video? Upload risk asks: does this video's public text look copyright-sensitive for the person who uploaded it?
What the percentage represents
GuardMyVideos inspects title, description, tags, and captions when available. Rule-based patterns plus AI review surface signals such as full-media language, third-party clip cues, and reaction-style phrasing. Those signals roll into a 0–100 risk score (low / medium / high bands). A low score does not guarantee a clean claim history; a high score does not mean you will receive a strike. GuardMyVideos is not intended for music copyright checking.
What Pro unlocks
Free users always see the risk percentage so you know something was checked. Pro reveals the detailed dossier: extracted risk keywords, dimension explanations, an AI summary, and safer keyword rewrites for titles/tags/descriptions. Safer alternatives are phrase rewrites — not recommendations of other YouTube videos.
What this tool does not do
It does not read active Content ID matches or give legal advice, and it is not a music rights tool. Pair it with your own rights documentation and YouTube's official copyright guidance. For strike-prevention process, see how to avoid YouTube strikes. For the manual pre-publish checklist framing, see YouTube copyright risk checker.
Run it inside a normal scan
There is no separate fee or tool hop — upload risk runs as part of your GuardMyVideos scan. Review copycat matches and the upload risk panel on the same results screen. Compare Free vs Pro if you want the unlocked keyword and rewrite detail.
Frequently asked questions
- What does upload risk analysis measure?
- It estimates whether the scanned YouTube URL’s own title, description, tags, and captions look copyright-sensitive for the uploader — for example full-episode cues, third-party clip language, or reaction/replay phrasing. It is not a music checker, not a Content ID reader, and not legal advice.
- How is upload risk different from copycat similarity scores?
- Copycat scores ask whether other videos look like copies of your focal URL. Upload risk asks whether the focal URL itself shows sourcing or metadata patterns that commonly correlate with claim risk. Both appear in the same scan results.
- What do free users see vs Pro?
- Everyone sees the upload risk percentage. Pro unlocks detailed risk keywords, explanations, an AI summary, and safer keyword rewrites.
